The area surrounding Breezy Shores Resort & Beach Club offers scenic, year-round activities.  In the summer, spring, or fall, bikers and walkers can enjoy the tree-lined, paved, mile-long trail from the resort to historic Dunton Locks.  The locks offer an interesting story of the surrounding area with rippling waters and a fishing dock.  Boaters can travel from Detroit Lake to Lake Sallie by way of the narrows through Muskrat Lake.  On the weekends, a wooden lift at Dunton Locks moves boats over the 5-foot, 11-inch difference in water level between the two lakes.

Fall brings beautiful foliage around the lake and surrounding area.  Before freeze-up, waterfowl gather on the lake as they prepare to migrate to warmer climates.  Thousands of birds floating on lapping waves create an awesome sight.

Winter snows and the frozen lake bring a whole new look to the resort.  Although the lake continues to play a big role in the day by offering skating, ice fishing, and snowmobiling, the hustle and bustle of summer beaches transforms into a quiet, wintry calm as visitors turn to more inside activities.
